With respect and gratitude, Eastern Edge would like to acknowledge the land on which we gather as the unceded and ancestral homelands of the Beothuk, whose culture was erased by colonization. We acknowledge Ktaqmkuk, now known as the island of Newfoundland, as the traditional homeland of the Mi’kmaq and Beothuk. We also acknowledge Labrador as the traditional homelands of the Innu of Nitassinan, the Inuit of Nunatsiavut, and the Inuit of NunatuKavut. We recognize all First Peoples who were here before us, those who live with us now, and those to come. We are committed to working in a spirit of truth and reconciliation as we challenge ongoing colonization, striving for respectful relationships with all peoples across turtle island.
